Jesse Lindon Bernstein

Jesse got off the bus one day and he walked to the corner. Upon reaching the curb, he bent down and picked up the nickel which lay amongst the discarded burger king wrappers and soda cans on the side of the freeway. Thinking that he would now be able to provide for his family for the upcoming week, he smiled, straightened his back, and with his nose held high, didn’t even notice the glimmer of a golden dollar right beneath him. He went home that night and immediately fell asleep beneath his scraggly covers in his matchbox bed.
Oh, how ignorance is truly bliss.
